Aoi is her sister's sister, Kyosuke's sister-in-law, and Rina's, Yayoi's, and Nanami's friend, and classmate. At some point, Aoi learns about Saeki house from her sister, who is a real estate agent, and tells Rina about it. They decide to visit it, and bring Nanami, and Yayoi with them, much to Nanami's displeasure. They found the house empty and boring and Rina bickered with Aoi over the rumors of the house being haunted. While looking around, Yayoi, Aoi and Rina find 3 crude drawings unknowingly depicting their deaths, but quickly dismissed it as simply poor drawings. They find Nanami upstairs frightened, unaware that she saw Toshio, and leave the house out of boredom while laughing at their easily frightened friend.

Some time later, Aoi noticed Yayoi has disappeared and Rina has became a delusional shut it. Concerned her and Nanami visit Rina and experienced Toshio haunting the room and Rina shouting that the white child's curse will kill her. Frightened, Aoi and Nanami run out of the room and out of the house but not before giving Rina a charm necklace.

Later Aoi tries to pry more information about the house from her older sister, who is reluctant to discuss it with her. Her brother in law was more concerned about the prospect of Aoi entering the house despite the bad reputation it's received. Aoi then sent to the bathroom to take a bath, where she laments on her missing friends and feels guilty for what has happend to them. Suddenly, she sees Toshio's hand grabbing her lower jaw in the mirror and slowly and painfully rips it off and she disappears leaving behind her lower jaw and blood for her sister to discover.

Aoi later appears as a disfigured ghost missing her lower jaw with Rina and Yayoi (also ghosts) to haunt and torment Nanami.
