Gretchen was a main character of The Grudge 3, portrayed by Marina Sirtis. She is a painter, and resident of the cursed Chicago apartment building and fondly took care of Rose Morrison as her babysitter.
She is the 3rd victim to die in the film.
Biography[]

Gretchen took care of Rose when her older brother Max and sister Lisa were unavailable to be with her. She got along rather fondly with Rose, seeing her as a daughter figure.
Alone in her apartment, Gretchen was finishing a portrait of Rose before the evil spirit of Kayako tore it and came for Gretchen, mercilessly murdering her. Max, following a trail of accumulated black paint in the hall, discovered Gretchen's body in her apartment. Her corpse was being taken away when Lisa and Rose arrived home, with Max covering Rose's eyes, protecting her from seeing Gretchen's corpse.
Aftermath[]
Max's vision of Gretchen's corpse disturbed him and triggered his possession, further exacerbated when Mr. Praski fired him.
Trivia[]
- Gretchen is the 3rd character in the The Grudge film series to have her jaw ripped off by the curse. She follows Yoko and Mrs. Davis in the deleted epilogue.
