Hajime Kashiwagi (柏木肇, Kashiwagi Hajime) is a character from Ju-on: White Ghost, portrayed by Ichirôta Miyakawa. The father of Akane, Hajime is a cab driver who is reached by the grudge curse after transporting the murderer who created it.

HistoryEdit

Ju-haj6

Akane's memory of her father.

A good humored driver, Hajime transported a quiet, silent man carrying a bag and asked him about his plans for Christmas, receiving no answer. Even so, he talked about his plans to his little daughter. The next day, Christmas Eve, Hajime left his similarly quiet and silent daughter Akane at school, and discovered she was not excited for Christmas at all. Before leaving, Akane found something viscous on the backseat, to what Hajime apologized, justifying that could be from the passenger from the previous day. While cleaning the substance, Hajime was called from the cab office and was told that the police wanted to interrogate him about the passenger. Hajime looked through his rearview mirror and briefly saw him. As he turned, there was only the bag the passenger carried on the backseat. Hajime informed he was on the way and went to check the bag. As he opened it, Hajime was surprised by the ghostly face of a little girl, whose hands grabbed him from behind, decapitating him.

AftermathEdit

Hajime was reported missing. Seven years later, Akane was in school when she was invited by her schoolmates to play Kokkuri, and was suggested to call for her deceased father's spirit. After she agreed and they performed the game, it was Mirai's name was spelled, and her ghost manifested instead.

Notes and triviaEdit

  • Hajime started talking about Christmas to Atsushi after Fumiya (dressed as Santa Claus) crossed his way to the Isobe cursed house.
  • Hajime and Akane's storyline is reminiscent from Izumi and Toyama's plot from Ju-on: The Grudge. Both girls lose their father to the curse and grow up in mourning.
  • Hajime has a small cameo in Black Ghost.
